Introduction
Perhaps never before have we been as lost in the stillness and passage of time, and never before have we been as bewildered by the outside world and the inside. This year, we all have been carrying the depth of life in one’s own way. When resting and gazing at Feng’s artwork, it seems that the long silence has been vigorously stirred up, and all kinds of emotions suddenly cry out.
For a long time, Feng's works are rooted in abstract expressionism, expressing exuberant emotions via continuous and smooth flows, while voyaging through the ups and downs of life journey. At the same time, as growing up in a family of art masters, the oriental spirit of pursuing purity and inner peace has subconsciously integrated into Feng’s creations; the works are true reflections of his vision and state of mind.
In the past year, under the influence of the epidemic, connections between one’s well-being and the external environment have never been closer. It is impossible to stay away from it, nor can one just ignore: one's will was inevitably bound by externalities. In this state, a series of works "Influence of Externalities" was created: discordant elements beyond the homeostasis invaded life and mind, they were abrupt and sharp, accompanied by a variety of uncomfortable dilemmas or overwhelming panic. Then, in the midst of evolvement, order is re-established, yearning for the resilience of life itself and the calmness after the change of time.
Feng's works show a powerful vitality, the river of life is both profound and peaceful, and the works are a true reflection of the inner world: the water-surface is borderless, the mountains are exquisite, and the deep forest and springs are immortal. It is not a depiction, and there is no pre-determined theme; it is the practice of life itself.
About the Artist
Feng Xiang-Cheng (in Chinese: 冯相成) was born in Nanjing, China in 1973 and grew up in a family of highly notable art masters. Feng was introduced to and studied painting since childhood. He graduated from Nanjing Art Institute majored in Oil Painting, and further studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf in Germany. Feng is the founder of New Knight Art Association, an art group focusing on contemporary abstract painting.
Feng's paintings conceal the poetic traditional Eastern literati underneath his exuberant expression of emotions. His works are distinct and direct expressing a heartfelt screaming, but at the same time being subtle and introspective. Feng's vision and state of mind are imbued with vivid characteristics; only when viewed carefully can one understand his inner waves.
In Feng's works, objects are a reality hidden deep inside the artist's mind, and through his keen intuition, the works convey a strong intuitive sensation, between what seems and what is not, transforming the natural laws into the realm of the mind. The classic heavy texture in oil painting becomes thin, transparent and light under his brush, reflecting the instantaneous experience of emotions.
As a kind of art that pursues the inner spirit, painting is a journey beyond time and space; Feng frequently travels to explore the meaning of life and artistic truth in nature. He insists on the purity of creation, maintaining a high degree of innocence amidst the color and shape changes of the pictures.

也许从未像现在一样在时间的静止与流逝中踯躅，也从未像现在一样对外界与内在感到迷惑。这一年以来，人人皆在背负。当停下脚步、凝视画面的时候，仿佛猛然牵动了长久的沉寂，万般情绪，骤然呐喊起来。
长久以来，冯相成的作品秉承抽象表现主义风格，直抒胸臆，情绪奔放，画面连续流畅，犹如人生行旅的篇章。同时艺术家深具东方人文风骨，灵性与精神品格潜移默化地融汇于创作中，作品与艺术家的视界与心境一脉相承，行云流水，疏阔飘逸，独具一格。
近一年以来，在疫情的影响下，内心世界与外界环境的关联前所未有地密切起来。无法置身事外，也无法只是追求平静：个人意志归根结底受到了不可避免的束缚。在这种状态下，多幅作品由此而生。超出稳态之外的不和谐因素侵入生活与内心，它们突兀、尖利，伴随着百般不适的困境和不知所措的惊慌。随后在此消彼长中，秩序得以重新建立，寄望着生命本身的顽强和时过境迁后的从容。
冯相成的作品展现出强大的生命力，生命之河激越与平和并存，而作品就是内心世界的真实写照：水面开阔，山峦旖旎，而林泉不朽。它不是一种描绘，也没有预设的主题；它就是生命实践本身。
关于艺术家
冯相成
1973年生于江苏省南京市，2000年毕业于南京艺术学院油画系，2002年留学德国杜塞尔多夫美术学院，在克莱门教授工作室学习绘画创作。中国当代著名抽象艺术家，加拿大世界华人杰出艺术家。NCIAA 新骑士国际当代艺术联盟主席，SAA国际抽象艺术学会会长，日本国际艺术交流会加拿大分会会长。
曾在国内外美术馆画廊多次举办个人展览，并出版数本个人作品专辑，二次获得法国国际美术展奖项，作品被国内外艺术机构，美术馆和私人收藏。
